Sicily is “measured” thanks to the Sicilia Convention Bureau

The initiative, entirely financed and organised by the regional convention bureau has been launched in Palermo only last September, but in only 4 months has registered almost 500 events taken place or only requested in Sicily, in 2011. This project, almost unique in this moment in Italy, is the first to, through capillary relationships the convention bureau has on the territory involving regionally the operators to register the events arriving to Sicily, and assigning them an economical value. This total value represents an interesting amount for the touristic sector, as it has in requested direct services a direct turnover of many million Euros per year. Innovative and single case is finely, the census of a big number of events requested that didn’t take place in Sicily, of which the causes for not being confirmed and the competition are analysed. This is a useful tool for the marketing strategical evaluations and present and future actions planning.
